Failing to boot.

I have been using this over lay on windows 8 for the past few months and everything works like a charm but a few days ago i got around to updating to windows 8.1 and i also updates the over lay to 3.1. when ever i try to run the over lay now the only way i can get it working is to fully uninstall then reinstall and check the run program box at the end of the install, trying to open the overlay from the start menu, desktop, install folder or by running as admin nothing happens.

I have no experience with this type of stuff so for all i know the fix is right under my nose thank you for any assistance.
