The next 3.0 beta build is finally ready. I meant to get this out a lot sooner, but some things came up that prevented that from happening. In any case, you can download it here.
Here's the list of changes from Beta 2:
One additional note about the Dungeon Timer is that it includes an experimental feature where the title bar, background, and buttons all fade out unless you position the mouse over the window. This can be enabled/disabled in the Dungeon Settings. If any of you try this out, I'm looking for opinions on whether or not I should add this "auto-hide border" feature to the other overlay windows.
As usual, please post here if you find any issues with this build or if you have any general opinions on if you like something or don't like something. Thanks!
Here's the list of changes from Beta 2:
- Added a new Dungeon Timer tool. This new tool is designed to help hardcore "dungeoneers" time their dungeon runs. The timer will automatically start when entering a dungeon and will stop when exiting the dungeon after reaching the end. It also saves the best time for each path, which can be reset via the Dungeon Settings.
- The Dungeon Timer can be found listed in the Dungeons menu next to the Dungeon Tracker
- Currently the timer will only automatically start/stop for the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon. I am in the process of adding the required information for the other dungeons, but it does mean I have to run through every single path (including story) of every dungeon, which is going to take some time
- Added auto-completion detection for the dungeon tracker. If enabled (via the Dungeon Settings), the path you run will automatically be marked off in the tracker. Like the timer, this currently only works for Ascalonian Catacombs, but I am in the process of adding support for the other dungeons
- Added auto-completion detection for world events. If enabled, when a world event is active and your character is within range, the daily treasure in the Event Tracker will automatically be marked as completed. Note that this has not been implemented for Karka Queen or the Evolve (3-headed) Jungle Wurm. I will add support for those in a future build
- Added a slight texturing to the background of all windows
- Fixed XML serializer to use UTF-16 instead of UTF-8. This should help resolve the issue of special characters (for other languages) showing up incorrectly
- Added ability to sort objectives in the WvW Tracker by Type, Name, Owner, Location, and Distance
- Added the suggested French and German translations for the Cardinal Directions of WvW Objectives
- Updated GW2.NET, Awesomium, and a couple other dependencies to the latest version. The updates to GW2.NET were pretty significant, and in the case of the Mumble interface (for location tracking), should result in a slight performance improvement. Most of this work was performed by Steven Liekens, the primary developer of GW2.NET
- Added French translations for the above-mentioned features (thanks Shawni!)
- Fixed waypoint code for Taidha Covington
One additional note about the Dungeon Timer is that it includes an experimental feature where the title bar, background, and buttons all fade out unless you position the mouse over the window. This can be enabled/disabled in the Dungeon Settings. If any of you try this out, I'm looking for opinions on whether or not I should add this "auto-hide border" feature to the other overlay windows.
